Chinese mining company, Xinfeng Investment (Pty) Limited has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of its lithium processing plant in Namibia. The company has been active in lithium mining, particularly in the Erongo region, which has significant lithium deposits. 

The construction of the lithium plant commenced in November 2022 in the Uis area. Xinfeng has invested a substantial amount of $40 million into the development of this state-of-the-art facility. This monumental development was announced by Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, during a recent media briefing.

Lithium is regarded as a "white gold" in the modern world, akin to how gold has been perceived throughout history.

The new facility is a critical addition to the global lithium market, which has seen exponential growth due to the increasing demand for lithium-ion batteries, a key component in batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) and other electronic devices.
